Brothers and sisters, the message of the Reformation is today this invitation to live the Christian freedom by faith and love. We need a lot to remember this message, our country needs to understand that the way to solve our differences is not hate or intolerance but God´s love.

A life of prayer, a life of discipleship, is a life that has always been a source of eternal salvation. The life of Christ was the source of our eternal salvation, and our life of discipleship in imitation of Christ life will be a powerful testimony of salvation to the world. Many people will discover faith and obedience to God through your life of faith and obedience to God.

This is the cost of discipleship, the capacity to believe that all the wealth of one´s house is nothing if we don’t have the love of Jesus filling our house, our being, our dreams and our hope.

Long ago God spoke to our ancestors in many and various ways by the prophets,  his is the way the author of the letter to the Hebrews begins his presentation of the good news of Jesus Christ. This is not like a typical Once upon a time opening, this is not like an advertisement trying to sell us a new product, this is something different.

Who is in and who is out?
The disciples were concerned that somebody that was not a member of Jesus´ church might be practicing exorcisms in Jesus´ name and liberating people in Jesus´ name. In other words, somebody was using Jesus´ brand name to perform miracles and this individual was not a “member” of Jesus´ inner circle. For the disciples that was unacceptable.

The key mark of discipleship is servanthood . Observe a tree, said St. Augustine, how it first tends downwards, that it may then shoot forth upwards. It fastens its root low in the ground, that it may send forth its top towards heaven. But without humility it will not attain to higher things.
