The congregation of The Lutheran Church of Our Saviour Is set to welcome Ms. Sylvanna Fraga as our Minister of Music
beginning in April, 2013! Our new Minister of Music, Sylvanna Fraga, will arrive here at LCOS on Friday, April 5th.
Sylvanna's first Sunday with us will be on April 7th.
Sylvanna comes to us from Los Angeles, California where she is organist/Choir Director for a Seventh Day Adventist Church
and Two Episcopal Churches. She has played in both English and Spanish speaking churches of several denominations in
classical, praise, and contemporary styles. She has also directed children's choirs and bell choirs. Sylvanna also
teaches privately with more than 30 students, and will continue her teaching in Tampa.
Sylvanna began piano lessons in her native Buenos Aries, Argentina at age six. By age 15 she earned her Superior Degree
in Piano and Piano Theory. Sylvanna and her family emigrated from Argentina to the United States in 1989. She comes
from an exceptional line of musicians, studying with Martha Pisano and Eduardo Delgado. During her piano career Sylvanna
has performed in South America, the United States, and Europe.
Sylvanna is also an accomplished organist. Not only does Sylvanna continue LCOS's commitment to excellence in music
ministries, but her talents look to expand our music program. She is a committed Christian and sees her talent as both
a gift from God, but an offering to God's glory.
Sylvanna Fraga is relocating to Florida with her husband, Eric Meade, and her mother, Alicia Fraga. LCOS eagerly welcomes
her family to life of our congregation.
Come join us, and perhaps join our choir, as LCOS opens a new chapter in our journey at LCOS!
While our normal choir rehearsal time is on Wednesday evenings, 7:30 - 8:45, we are moving her first rehearsal
to Friday evening, April 5th at 7:30 PM.
It would be great if our choir membership increased! But that depends upon YOU. The only requirement is to carry a
tune, you do not have to read music or have sung in a choir before!! Most choir members cannot read music, including
your pastor.
If you have thought about it, or have wanted to be a part of this very important worship team, NOW is the time
to just do it! Just show up on Friday evening, April 5! You will be blessed and have fun.
Lenten Boxes and Flowering Cross
The Lenten Boxes given out on the first Sunday of Lent, should be brought back the first Sunday after Easter on April 7.
The monies collected will support various Missions of the church.
Also, on April 7, we will revive an old tradition by "Flowering the Cross" to celebrate the Easter season.
Please bring a long-stemmed flower for each member of your family. It can be any kind of flower you like.
At the beginning of the service, Pastor will have us proceed, as we do in intinction, and place our Lenten Boxes
at the foot of the cross and then put our flower in a hole in the cross, thereby changing the cross from worn
and rugged to beautiful.
