Teach a Little Child

Give me a little child to point the way

Over the strange, sweet path that leads to thee;

Give me a little voice to teach to pray,

Give me two shining eyes thy face to see.

The only crown I ask, dear Lord, to wear

Is this: that I may teach a little child.

Letter from the Sunday School

Dear Friends,

We are so excited and honored to be presenting the new Sunday School format this year reflecting the talents of the LCOS’ children. Fritz & Martin Presents Fine Arts Sundays is a curriculum that has been contributed to by Pastor Keiser, Mrs. Janelle Gibson, Mrs. Michelle Valentonis, and ourselves.

Based on the church calendar and Sunday Word, our students will learn songs, create poetry, skits which would include set design, paint, sculpt, explore our church campus and symbols, as well as practice chapel manners. Approximately every 5 weeks, during the last 5-10 minutes of traditional worship the Sunday Schoolers will present what they have been learning during the preceding modules. Each week will meet at the picnic tables in front of Gibson Hall for a conjoint lesson and brief snack before breaking up into interest stations such as music or art.

It is our great hope that you all will support this through volunteering to assist students by setting up/ cleaning up from Sunday School, assist students with projects, teach songs, set up/ clean up from snacks, or donate supplies. We are in need of several teachers and volunteers that can rotate on a schedule.

Additionally, students will receive a Fritz & Martin tote bag for carrying lesson materials and fun peace-filled activities for church service. There is a $10/ per family registration fee and an optional t-shirt available to purchase with the Fritz & Martin Presents Fine Arts Sundays logo. This is in effort to purchase supplies which will need to be purchased throughout the year.

We welcome your feedback and hope that you and your family will be joining us on the exciting journey in the coming year. Sunday School will be held following the traditional service (10:00 am to 11:00 am), beginning September 13 through May 23rd. If you have any questions please contact Christine at via e-mail at cgm4agd@hotmail.com.

Sincerely,

Christine McNamara & Lori Greenberg
